First, It's been around forever... it's not a "buzz" word anymore. It's not a new, nifty peptide or stemcell... most big box companies just find it boring because they're looking for the latest trend. You'll find out quickly, WE ARE NOT about trends or GIMMICKS, we're about what works and what's best for your skin. Vitamin C is still a "tried and true" ingredient and gives  clients the best (and FASTEST) results.

Second, L-Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is a very unstable molecule, meaning... It oxidizes quickly and as it oxidizes, it becomes less potent. Big box companies use vitamin C derivatives in their products to lengthen the shelf life of the product, because most of the time your bottle of skincare sits in a warehouse for weeks (even months) before it reaches the store you purchase it from. These derivatives are NOT near as potent or offer the same (AMAZING!) results that L-Ascorbic acid does. Some of the derivatives to look out for include ascorbyl palmitate, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, ascorbyl tetra-isopalmitoyl, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, and sodium ascorbyl phosphate. By now, you may be asking how we stabilize our serum... and the answer is, we don't. WE DO NOT USE ANY ARTIFICIAL PRESERVATIVES in any of our products. Period. In fact, we rarely use any synthetic ingredients at all, but when we do, they're SAFE.

Each bottle is shipped with 2 capsules that contain the appropriate amount of pure L-Ascorbic acid to turn your bottle into a 20% powerhouse serum unlike any other you've ever used before. Why do we have you mix your own serum? Remember one paragraph up when we mentioned not using a preservative? We want your Vitamin C to be as fresh as possible, so you become the "chemist" (your bottle includes a short video to show you how to mix your serum, it's impossible to mess it up!). After you've mixed your new magic potion, you have about 60 days (depending on how diligent you are in keeping your bottle closed and out of direct sunlight) until it oxidizes. However, if you're using the proper amount of serum to cover your face, neck and chest, your 1oz bottle will last you around 40-45 days (about month and a half), so you have a two week "cushion" 😉. 

I'm sure you've heard of companies like SkinCeuticals, SkinMedica, Jan Marini, etc, who's vitamin C products can reach all the way up into the $130.00 range (which is beyond asinine and ridiculous) and there's absolutely no logical reason for this outrageous pricing. We know because we purchase the same raw ingredients these other companies do. It's simple, you're paying for bragging rights to say "I use so-and-so vitamin C serum". How about bragging about what an amazing vitamin C serum you're using and how budget friendly it is, too? Do you have more friends that are willing to spend $130.00 for a 1oz bottle of serum or more friends that are willing to spend $45.00 for a 1oz bottle of serum?
